The principal topics being addressed by the students of the School are:
- Introducing innovations into the practice of educational activity
- Theory and practice of project methodology (the structuring of independent projects)
- Work on the basis of the cultural context of the sphere and location of activities undertaken
As a part of MILHAUZ School the following courses are offered:
"Basic!": introductory course to acquaint the group with the fields of education and art: getting one's bearings in the area of informal education and the principal directions of its development; studying group dynamic processes and mastering the practical skills and habits needed for leading a group; learning about the foundations of the pedagogy of creative work.
"The Pedagogy of Creative Work": How creative work serves as a teacher for us: studying the theoretical foundations and basic principles of the pedagogy of creative work; mastering the available methodologies and the development of new ones: leading creative processes in a group, and much, much more.
"Adults: Informal Education for Professionals": The study of the foundations of group work with grownups who are professionals in their fields: its special features, methodologies, and possibilities. Leading professional groups. The course is intended for those who have experience in working with groups in some format.
"Expedition": The study of the special features of working with groups within the framework of seminars "on wheels" such as Taglit, excursions to locations in Ukraine and the Baltic States and more: determining the peculiar features of the educational format appropriate for expeditions, honing of approaches and methodologies, determining the possible and the impossible types of activity that can comprise a part of an indicated project format.
"ART: action": Creating a group of artists, whose work should be directed at the organization of joint exhibits, conceptual undertakings, and texts. In different cases the problems tackled may be imported both from the outside (contests and the like) as well as from within the group (the crystallization process of an exhibit, expression and development of ideas gestated within the group).
“ART: impression”: Studying the language of contemporary art through an immediate encounter with it, accompanied by the discussion and joint thinking through of the meaning of what we have seen.
"Social Studying" Laboratory: This is a course which provides the conditions for mutual learning within a variety of workshops, as well as for enriching the experience of participation in projects connected to the pedagogy of creative work. The lab comprises an intensive series of workshops conducted by different coordinators with a variety of materials and themes.
"Children's Culture" Forum: As the forum for those working or planning to work with children, this is devoted to issues of methodology of working with children and parents, as well as to the support of leaders involved in this difficult but important work.
